Hello Stranger Poster Art

I publish my drawings and graphics at Zazzle and was recently browsing art when I happened upon an artist whose work intriques me.

I think several of her black and white printed posters would be perfect for adult or teen coloring projects.

Here is one of my favorite posters from her hand-rendered art prints collection; it is a picture of a woman waving from a city window - Hello, Stranger - is she lonely, homebound or perhaps simply shy?

Let's Paint a Lighthouse Scene

If you love art and enjoy coloring, you may want to try to create a painting or pencil drawing of your very own.  When I was learning about art, the hardest thing for me to do was to draw the initial sketch for a painting.

Well I've been making art for more than 50 years now, and I'm pretty comfortable with sketching from photographs. I'm  adding a new section on my web sites in the printable art and coloring pages for adults: art sketches, ready to print and paint or color in.

Here's a recent art sketch I drew for ClipArtandCrafts.com. It's a sketch  drawing of a lighthouse and beach walk. I got the idea from a photograph I took several  years ago when I visited the beaches on Long Island.

Print out the art sketch and use the reference photo from the same page to make your own lighthouse painting or colored pencil drawing. It's more than a coloring page, it's a paint by number picture where you make up the numbers for each coloring in section, so you can make your art in any style: realistic, impressionistic or any other method you like.

Try working the picture art in several ways - perhaps in monotone, then as a summer scene or with a dramatic sunrise/sunset behind the lighthouse.

Printable lighthouse art sketch is free for noncommercial use; print it at ClipArtandCrafts.com.

Japanese Fan Coloring Page or Digital Stamp

Japanese Fan Coloring Page

I visited Japan about 17 years ago, and I brought home a few traditional items from local markets as my souvenirs. I have a lovely set of rice bowls and chopsticks from a local store in Yokohama, plus a red laquer tray, rice paper parasol, silky blue carp kite/windsock and a paper mache mask.

Here's a simple Japanese fan coloring page drawing ready  for adult coloring designs or you might want to use it as a digital stamp.

Lighthouse Coloring Page

I've lived in New England most of my life and my favorite place to be no matter what the time of year  is close to the ocean. Although I was born near the Massachusetts shore,  I've always had a great passion  for the beauty of Maine's rugged and rambling rocky coast and her many lighthouses.

This summer I started a new coloring series with many New England images inclding this lighthouse coloring page poster based on one of my own Maine photographs. Enjoy this printable lighthouse line art  for any noncommercial use. It would make a nice emboidery pattern or tee shirt design.

If you post or use this on your blog, please link back to this post, or to my web site page where I've published  the printable lighthouse coloring poster.

Japanese Cherry Blossoms Coloring Page

Japanese Cherry Blossoms

I love spring time and although it's fall in New England, below the Equator it's early spring. Here's my favorite spring flower drawn for you as a printable Japanese cherry blossoms coloring page.

These delicate pink flowers always remind me of Japan. I visited Japan during the 1990s several times on business, and while there I visited the Royal gardens in Tokyo and jogged in the streets of Yokohama.
